In an interesting twist, former Ohio State Buckeyes running back Maurice Clarett has returned to the school.
Clarett won’t be a part of the football team obviously, but is taking classes again in hopes of earning a degree.
The former football star was just released from prison after spending three and a half years behind bars.
Clarett said that he hopes he isn’t a distraction to the school or football team while on campus. ( Read More…)

Ohio State Buckeyes guard David Lighty has fractured his left foot again and will need surgery.
The guard suffered the injury during spring workouts. It is the same foot he broke back in December of 2008.
The recovery from surgery is expected to take three months, so Lighty should have plenty of time to get in shape for next season.
The junior averaged 12.6 points per game this past season for the Big 10 champions and will be one of the leaders of next year’s team.

Ohio State Buckeyes starting quarterback Terrelle Pryor said he is blocking out all of the hype and excitement about potentially winning the Heisman Trophy.
The Buckeyes have an extremely easy schedule and a talented team, so there are high hopes in Columbus about a possible national titel and Heisman winner.
Pryor said that is all comes down to doing whatever it takes to help the team win, and if that’s what helps him win the Heisman, then so be it.
The junior quarterback underwent arthroscopic surgery in his knee in the offseason but is 100 percent heading into spring practices.
He said that his struggles last year resulted from trying to prove people wrong about him instead of just relaxing and doing what he does best.

Ohio State Buckeyes star Evan Turner has announced that he will enter the NBA Draft and does not intend to return to school.
Turner, who was the Player of the Year, is expected to be a top five draft pick by many scouts.
In fact, Turner is expected to go No. 1 or No. 2 in the draft depending upon what teams are selecting at those spots.
The junior really came into his own this season despite starting off the year with a serious back injury.
He averaged nearly a triple-double per game and helped carry Ohio State to a Big Ten title and the Sweet 16.

Ohio State Buckeyes junior star Evan Turner has been voted the Associated Press Player of the Year.
Turner averaged nearly a triple-double per game while leading the Buckeyes to a Big Ten title.
The run to the Big Ten conference tournament title was aided by Turner’s near half-court buzzer beater to beat Michigan.
He carried the Buckeyes for much of the year and rebounded well from a broken back early in the season.
It remains unclear whether or not Turner will leave school, but he is projected as a top five draft pick.

Evan Turner won the Big 10 player of the year award this season. He did everything for his Ohio State Buckeyes.
The same was true Friday night in the Midwest Regional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament. But this time, even Turner couldn’t lift his team past Tennessee. Turner’s 3-point attempt was blocked by J.P. Pierce at the buzzer, and the Buckeyes saw their season end with a 76-73 loss in St. Louis.
Ohio State (29-8) looked to have a relatively easy path to the Final Four, after Kansas and Georgetown were upset earlier in the tournament. But Tennessee rallied from a three-point deficit at halftime, took the lead with 32 seconds left, then made the big defensive play on Turner.
But don’t fault Turner. He scored 21 of his team-high 31 points in the second half. He also led the Buckeyes with seven rebounds and five assists. His teammates combined to hit just 3-of-16 shots in the final 20 minutes.
The Buckeyes were particularly vulnerable in the paint, where Tennessee took advantage of its size to score inside. At the end, even Turner’s heroics weren’t enough to save the Buckeyes.

At 14-6 following a loss at West Virginia on Jan. 23, the Ohio State Buckeyes have found their stride since.
More than two months has passed since that loss. The Buckeyes have played 16 times since, and 15 times Ohio State has walked off the court victorious.
The latest win came Sunday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Ohio State building a big lead and then hitting their free throws late to bounce Georgia Tech 75-66.
Sixteen games. Fifteen wins. The only loss in that stretch coming Feb. 17 against Purdue, a narrow 60-57 defeat.
Ohio State (29-4) looks to continue its surge Friday night in the Midwest Regional semifinals against Tennessee in St. Louis. With a win there, the Buckeyes will move into the Elite Eight and will play for a spot in the Final Four on Sunday.

The Ohio State Buckeyes won in every way possible en route to the Big 10 tournament championship.
The Buckeyes needed a miraculous shot by star Evan Turner just to advance out of the quarterfinals.
They then needed overtime to escape Illinois and make it to the conference championship game.
Once there, the Buckeyes clicked on all cylinders to rout a desperate Minnesota Golden Gophers team.
Needless to say, Turner was sensation throughout the tournament and named its Most Outstanding Player.
